Security & audit logging

VidiLex includes built-in audit logging to support security reviews,
incident investigation, and compliance requirements.

Why logging matters

Audit logs answer simple but critical questions:

  • who accessed what
  • when changes were made
  • how permissions evolved

They provide transparency without disrupting daily work.

What is logged

  • authentication and login events
  • workspace access
  • role and permission changes
  • content creation and deletion
  • configuration changes

Logs are event-based — not content-based.

What is not logged

To protect privacy:

  • video content itself is not logged
  • transcript text is not logged
  • search queries are not retained beyond operational needs
  • no behavioral profiling is performed

Log integrity and retention

Audit logs are:

  • immutable (append-only, protected against modification)
  • retained for 90 days
  • exportable in CSV and JSON formats

They support internal and external audits.

Fine-grained Access control

Access to logs is:

  • admin-controlled (role-restricted)
  • tenant-isolated
  • never shared across customers
